Hidey-Hitch Key Storage — Upgraded Shorty

Upgraded Shorty Hidey-Hitch stores small spare essentials inside an unused trailer hitch receiver. The recessed front helps it blend into the receiver opening.

Choose your version

Shorty uses a shorter body and provides less storage room than the regular version. It still needs a clear path inside the receiver and compatible pin-hole alignment. Original uses a sliding rear cover behind the pin opening. Upgraded (Mk2) uses two sliding halves and an interlocking split pin opening.

Check the fit

Designed for nominal 2-inch square receivers. Check inside clearance, pin-hole position and usable depth; receiver shape, welds, covers, an end plate or a spare tire can affect fit. A nominal 2-inch opening alone does not establish compatibility.

Store only items that fit comfortably and allow the closure to seat fully. Keyless-entry behavior depends on your vehicle and fob; test it before relying on stored access. Protect items that need to stay dry.

What’s included

One black Upgraded Shorty Hidey-Hitch assembly. Hitch pin and pictured keys, cash and cards are not included.

Installation

The newer design (Mk2) uses two sliding halves and an interlocking split pin opening. Pull apart at the middle seam, load the narrower half, slide the larger half fully into place, then align and retain the assembly in the receiver with a compatible hitch pin.

Construction and finish

3D printing combines the recessed front, storage compartment and sliding closure in a compact part. Visible layer lines are part of the printed finish.
