The extra mile in sprinkler head freeze protection!

  • Covers and protects – Just like an insulated faucet cover, but for your sprinkler heads.
  • Insulates all major brands of sprinkler rotor heads and spray heads – Rainbird, Hunter, Toro, K-Rain, Orbit, Irritrol, and more!
  • Installs in seconds – Because you’ve got other things to do! Place over your sprinklers, then use the built-in saw to twist it in, use a spade, or just stomp on it (it’s sturdy)! Quick installation for those emergency flash freezes!
  • Double-wall insulation – Just like your water bottle or double-pane windows, this keeps your sprinkler heads toasty.
  • Hex cellular air pocket technology – Just like your puffer jacket, this prevents convection and circulation.
  • Tough UV-resistant thermoplastic polymer construction – Lasts the lifetime of your sprinkler system – which is now longer!
  • Winterizes and de-stresses – Use in addition to your normal winterization routine to keep your mind at ease in the coldest of nights!

Usage and Care Instructions

The Beanie is just like an insulated faucet cover for your sprinkler heads! It installs in seconds:

  1. Prepare your sprinkler heads – Not only will sprinkler heads will stay warmer if the ground is wet, but installation will be easier, too. Run your sprinkler system prior to installation, or hose down each sprinkler head as you go.
  2. Choose your weapon – You can install using a spade, the built-in saw, or your foot. If your ground is hard, we recommend using a spade. Dig it in – If you’re using a spade, center the Beanie over the sprinkler head. Then, with the Beanie resting on the ground, outline the Beanie with your spade, pushing the spade into the ground two or three inches around the full perimeter. Then twist the Beanie into place. Or, twist it in – Use the hand grip on top and twist it clockwise into the ground. Or, stomp it in – If you’re using your foot, be sure the ground is soft and wet beforehand. Apply pressure with your foot straight down into the ground. Try not to apply any side pressure to the thin wall of the saw. The other methods are better, but this is good in a pinch!
  3. Important: Bury the Beanie at least up to the line – This is where the insulation begins!
  4. Use the Beanie in addition to your normal winterization routine for peace of mind all winter long!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer any colors other than black?
    • Right now we only offer the Beanie in black. In testing, it was able to absorb the most heat from the sunlight.
  • Do you offer any other sizes?
    • Not at the moment! This design covers the majority of sprinkler heads on the market, and it provides ample double-wall insulation, and additional air space underneath, to keep your sprinklers warmer over the coldest nights.
  • How much warmer does the Beanie keep your sprinkler heads?
    • In testing, the Beanie provided about a 20 degree difference overnight compared to the surrounding air. Just like buckets and blankets protect your plants by trapping the earth’s heat, the Beanie traps heat from the ground. Where the Beanie really shines is in its heat retention and heat absorption!
  • Is my system fully winterized after installing the Beanies?
    • The Beanie is an incredible tool in your winterization arsenal! But, it is only meant to be part of your winterization routine. Sprinkler Tools, the maker of the Beanie, cares about saving the homeowner money from expensive repair bills. The Beanie is extra insurance and peace of mind.
  • What is the line halfway down the side of the Beanie?
    • This line marks how far down the Beanie should be buried. It needs to be buried that far, because that’s where the double-walled insulation starts. The thin single wall below that line is there to saw and slice into the ground and hold the Beanie in place.
